Which Macs does Spellio run on?
Any Mac running macOS 15 Sequoia or later. On-device models need Apple silicon. The cloud model works on every supported Mac.
Do I need a Force Touch trackpad?
No. The keyboard shortcut, ⌘⇧Space by default, works on every Mac. A firm press on a Force Touch trackpad is a second way to trigger the same fix.
Which apps does it work in?
Any app where you can select text: Mail, Messages, Notes, Slack, Safari, Chrome, your editor. Spellio reads the selection and writes the correction back in place.
Is my writing private?
With an on-device model, every word stays on your Mac. With the cloud model, the selected text is sent to Gemini 2.5 Flash through OpenRouter, using your own API key.
Why does Spellio ask for Accessibility access?
So it can read your selection and write the correction back. macOS asks you once, under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility.
How does the license work?
